Vacant Vacations

My family and I have had the hardest time fulfilling our planned vacations. Last year we were supposed to go to Mount Rushmore, but work issues forced us to cancel that vacation.

This year we were supposed to spend a week in Washington, DC, but then Hurricane Katrina and Rita hit and gas prices put that vacation out of our financial reach this year. Determined to go SOMEWHERE this year, we decided I'd take a few days off and spend some time at the Kennedy Space Center...

And then there was Wilma. Now Wilma is scheduled to hit this weekend... the same weekend we were supposed to go to the Space Center.

Am I asking too much? A family vacation of some significance?

The hurricane winds of fate have been against us over the past two years. Now, we're not sure what we're going to do. If Wilma gives us a reprieve, we will attempt to make the drive and give our kids something to remember, other than promised vacations that never materialized.

Pete,

Just take a left, then another left and come to Houston and visit our space center. Hurricanes only threaten this area.
