The Christian film Facing the Giants, made for about $100,000 and screening in limited release in theaters across the country has made $2.7 million in 10 days, just below the $60 million film called Flyboys.
Facing the Giants is made by the makers of Flywheel, a great Christian flick. My family and I tried to see it opening weekend at a local AMC Theater but found the showing sold out. We're hoping to see it this weekend, if our schedule allows.
This is good news for Christian filmmakers. Christian films have a market waiting to be filled by quality entertainment. The market is a niche market, however, so the budgets must remain low.
Congrats and continued success to Giants filmmakers. You can read more about their success on the Washington Post website.
